I would instead suggest a Man Purse so one can carry the large amount of cash into the store etc. rather than leaving it in the car. Seriously bad luck though.

Glad you were able to get your Defender. Thieves suck!
Use pockets, $30-$40k in cash isnt that hard to keep in your pockets, and from the sounds of the truck he bought, it is likely in that range. Someone can run up and swipe your "handbag/purse" easily, not to mention the fact that no defender owner should be wearing a man purse. And yes, i would feel more comfortable moving that kind of cash with a gun on me, and if i was in texas like he was, i would be open carry on it.

Yet we have members here who give me crap about posting something PRO GUN!
Even the local cops know that they investigate crimes and don't stop them.

Since when do we let the criminals dictate how we should live our lives? I don't and you shouldn't either.

Ideals vs reality. That the officer told you that "you need to carry" speaks volumes.

I get the wanting cash thing. I recently sold my offshore fishing boat to a friend. He got a cashiers check and deposited it into the acct we use for the farm that happens to be with Wells Fargo. Because of the large amount they put a hold on a cashiers check for a week. I think he was more angry than I was- some bank policies are beyond absurd.

Hypothetical to the conceal carry guys. Say you are carrying your 'man purse' or briefcase with $35k in cash from the bank and some perp tries to steal it. Just a grab and go. Or grab and go from your car like the OP. You are going to shoot the perp in the back as he is running away with your cash? I don't get it and would think you would be in jail serving time.

Open carry is illegal in Texas.

Flashbang holster. distract them with the flash then pull the gun out. During my last CHL class the instructors wife had one. She was close to 80 so not as hot as the video.
