Trade 110 for 90 "FEELER"

This is just a feeler, but I am getting bored with the 110 and might want to go back to a 90. I am only interested in a 97 AA yellow 90. My 110 has 147k miles, never offroad, some rust on a few parts of the body cappings otherwise very corrosion free, and was converted to auto. Like I said this is just a feeler and I am not in any kind of hurry. And no, I am not trading one for the other. There would have to be cash coming my way with the trade. Again, this is just a feeler. Mike

Hi Mike,

If you care to consider a '97 monza red unit with 91k miles - I'll include the full metal hard top with SW roll cage and ST roll cage - everything you need to have the option to swap between two configurations.... ST & SW.

I just installed new BFGs 185s - new brake pads and rotors (less than 500 miles) - rebuilt radiator, power flushed transmission, new oil cooler lines, new front engine seal, new fuel pump, - the truck has an OME 2" lift -springs and shocks (two years old). (Exmoor Seat XS refit kit - new foam - leather bolsters / riptop centers (1 year old) - Zero Rust - Very Well maintained and cared for - better than new.... here is a url to pics I took of it in January. http://www.americandirtroads.com/97_D90_1.html

Follow-up Post:

oops! - error on tire size - they are 285 BFGs

Mike would you consider an outright sale? If so how much are you looking for?

Thanks for the offer Len but it has to be yellow.

John, not really looking for an outright sale at this point. Not even really sure I want to get rid of the 110 but just put the feeler out incase the right 90 came along.

Nope, sorry - it's just not that easy.
Once you have forsaken a 90 for a 110 you are banished from the "Short Wheelbase Rover Inner Circle of Trust".

The only way to get back in to a 90 is by a majority yes vote of the short wheelbase guys whose feelings you so carelessly cast aside when you jumped to the 110 ship.

You should have done it the way JimC and others have done. Keep the sacred 90, then buy a 110.

Now, in the interest of peace and harmony, I vote to let you back in.
I can't speak for the rest of my fellow D-90 comrades, though. Alas, your fate rests with them.

Perhaps some sort of penance will gain their favor...

It's a spray can away from any color you want...

My thought would be to have you swap for a week... Take Len up on his offer for a week or two. Make sure it is what you want. Then you can offer up a trade and decide on colour. BTW, white is the best color.

No, No, that would have been very bad. If Mike would have kept his 90 I wouldn't be the owner of it today!

I also vote to allow Mike back into the fold, I believe he has regretted selling his 90 every day it has been gone.

You are dead on Gary. I wish I would have kept that truck. I do want a soft top though and the wife wants yellow(so do I). If I find the right 90 I would buy it and keep the 110 but if the right trade came up I might go for it. I will say I much prefer driving a 90 over a 110 any day and once the magic of having a 110 goes away(lucky me I had two at once) you cant beat a 90. As far as painting one I dont want to deal with it and would rather just wait for a yellow one to come along. One good thing about a 110 is I doubt it will ever decrease in value so the longer I wait the better off I will probably be. Bring the 90 by one day Gary, I want to check it out.

And Scott, white would be the color I would go for if there was no yellow.

I do love the way that no one mistakes a 110 for a Jeep. The 90 is cool, but the 110 is what really reminds me of watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom on my grandparents B&W TV back when I was the remote control.

I thought I was the only one who had the job of being the remote when I was a kid. I would at least get a sip of my grandpa's Olympia for changing the channel from Mutual of Omaha to Lawrence Welk.

Man, you guys are making me realize my age. Flipping between Mutual of Omaha and Lawrence Welk.
Wish TVLAND would rerun the original Wild Kingdom!
And here I am selling a 90 because I purchased a 110. Man, ... (walks away scratching head)

Started out with a new s/t 90 (yellow) in Dec, '93, kept it 3 years, traded for a wagon, kept it 3 years, then back and forth til getting a 110- bought it two different times. The only answer, keep at least one of each- it is cheaper in the long run, financially and mentally.

Yeah, my grandparents had a color tv before we did. There was the Sunday night ritual of Wild Kingdom and then Wonderful World of Disney!

That takes me back.
