TracRac: anyone tried these?

I'm trying to find a versatile rack option for my NAS 90 SW.

Seems like the Thule Super High Feet are pretty high for up and down loading gear, i.e. kayaks and canoes with out assistance of some form.

Has any one tried mounting one of these racks on a Defender?:

Seems like their products are fairly popular with contractors.

Just unsure of the clearance between the Defender roof and the bottom of the rack as well as clearance with the external roll cage.

Let me know what you think....Matt

Option one is finding the old Thule rack that was made to attach to the roll bars. They come up on here occasionally and run about $250.00

Option two is a RN stainless steel rack. They are the less desirable square tubes, but they are easy to store on the ceiling of your garage, with bike hooks and can be put on and taken off in 15 mins. No holes are drilled in your truck for the rack or the ladder. Used they are about $800.

I have one, that I painted black. Not as pretty as the Safety Devices rack, but versatile.
