Toyota FJ55 to be crushed

A local guy just offered me a Toyota FJ55 he says will be crushed shortly, does anyone have any idea of a value. Assuming it is in "barn find" condition

Don't let that happen. They're ugly, but I love them. Maybe 1-2 grand in bad shape. Sell it to me.

At least don't let it get crushed. Someone could use it for parts.

Throw this up on Mud (IH8Mud). The 55 isn't worth all that much but the people who love the Pig always need parts since there isn't much available new anymore. Don't let it go to the crusher. Definitely post this in the FJ55 section on Mud.

I'd love to find one locally. The best non-LR truck, IMHO. But even the plastic parts rust.

If all he is going to do is crush it then offer him $100 more than what he would get as scrap.

I think they look pretty cool. Copley had one for sale last year for some good money (but I believe it had gone through TLC?) if I'm recalling correctly. It was on their Defender page.

Why would anyone crush one of these unless it was totally rotten which is of course possible. FJs rusted so badly. I remember there was a point that toyota was using a layered steel and it would literally rot from the inside out.

Sopke to the guy and he is asking $1200, it is in his neighbours barn and he hope to have it at his place by Friday. Apart from that it has some rust at this point not much more info. It has a clear title. Scrap cars were $11 per 100lb this morning in Farmville
