Regardless of the engine that is certainly a rover in one form or the other. Defender/series not sure

Agree with the Disco - that sheet metal doesn't look like anything Defender.

I read the accident was a hoax, but I see Hotwire regardless. My money is on D1. Don't recognize the bumper, however. Eurospec rear?

Looking at the plate ?IG8713, at a wild stab, looks like MIG8713 (was) a yellow MG Roadster (V8)? The Bumper does look like one too.

This could be the vehicle possibly? The three stooges were spotted driving a "modified" car somewhere in the UK a few weeks ago.

That must be it!

What was weird about the crash photo is how the whole body is pulled off and the windshield frame looks like a convertible. I kept thinking how the hell did the body pull off like that when looking at the crash picture.

I think you're on to something, because it looked like all Rover drivetrain stuff (even look at the tread and size of those tires), then a random body for the rest of it.

if that is it - I am real surprised anyone walked away from the crash, i mean look at it, no roll bar for safety to start...then look at the crash pic

I had seen that Benz and thought the same thing. And to corroborate the theory, although we can't read the front plate, it is white and different from the rear plate. However, the wheels and tyre profiles look different to me. Crash heap image shows alloys and mud tyres. Why change wheels after the crash?

Just when I get the feeling that the US Top Gear has their act together better than the UK equivalent, this happens: Top Gear USA axed
