The 2 part African expedition to find the source of the Nile was great. 3 wagons, mostly off road

That was great! Awesome scenery!

The RR L405 episode was a couple of weeks back and I thought it was great too. It was filmed in NV and pitted against a military self propelled vehicle.

UK one has been declining for years. If you have been watching the US version you will notice they cut out the whole studio portion and made it all challenges, and 1 new car test drive at the end, It's much better than when they started, and while i don't feel it is as good as the british version it is an entertaining show, the only part of the show i don't like is the presenter adam.

For all those that dont torrent and would like the full version, you can watch episodes online easily, just google "Top Gear Season 19 Episode 4" and just click the results that are at "Streetfire.net". Obviously replace the season and episode numbers with the ones you are looking for.

Ok. I agree the UK one is way better. But the US one has gotten better for sure and now ill watch both.

Buy lets be honest. The latest one where they tested the range rover, escalade and jeep was probably dead on about the range rover leaking and the air suspension acting up.

Oh...i agreee about the RR. Would not have expected less. I have met the "gentlemen" and they all are morons. I guess thats what happens when you try to fill shoes too big.
I can take or leave the show (usally leave).

Just watched the US one last night with the RR Sport... my beer nearly came out of my nose when the water started coming out of the dome light... I was laughing with a lot of sympathy pain.

It's such a common problem for LR3/4 and RRS that you would think LR would have redesigned the drain tubes that keep clogging up by now.

I also kept cringing every time I heard Tanner say "OK I have turned off all the traction controls" and then watch it promptly get stuck.

Yep, I had the same reaction. Felt that the rrs did well against the US counterparts. Tanner was drivin that thing like.... Well tanner. Kinda a course on how not to drive a range rover.

You have to make the show entertaining. If he didn't turn everything off for a little drama, whats the point of the show.

Perhaps I'm biased, but I felt they did everything wrong with the RRS to make the other two look comparable. If this was TGUK, the other two wouldn't have come close to the Brit.

The leaking made me laugh out loud. Not something I do often on the american version.

The US version is much improved this season.

I agree, but I still miss the actual studio, discussions, news items, etc. There is enough going on in the US car industry that they should have plenty to blab on about, pretty pictures, etc.

I get why they don't though... piss off a manufacturer and they pull support, dated news means it can't be used in reruns well, and they don't want to bust an hourlong timeslot.

The challenges have been getting a little better, but like the SUV show displayed, it's more about drama and entertainment than actual competition on which vehicle is better.

So... short story is it stays on the TiVo for now. But I'm glad BBC America is dealing me the good shit.

I enjoyed the "Best truck in america" or whatever it was called (US show) They took 3 old pickups (Fjord Cheby Dodj) across Alaska and beat them off road. Fun.

It's your typical Discovery Communications bodge of a known-good format. They'll probably turn it into something more redneck, as that seems to be the trend there at HQ in Silver Spring....
I don't think they will ever repeat the British-y quirk with the hold-your-teacup-with-extended-pinky-while-blowing-a-noisy-fart attitude.
