Tomb Raider Defender on eBay....Yeah Right!

Check this out....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Land-...04837269QQrdZ1

My old man flew 767's...no way I would trust him to build a truck for me. Apparently they never saw the Tomb Raider flick as this truck looks nothing like Lara's rig.

When I was a kid, a friend of mine wanted a particular toy. He made a deal with his mom that if he did a certain amount of chores, she would get him the toy. When he had fulfilled his end of the bargain, then went out to get it, but instead, she bought him a low-grade crappy alternate toy. Presumably, she perhaps thought her son wasnt old enough or smart enough to know the difference.

I am continually amazed how some people cannot tell the difference between something good and something crappy. I guess my friend's mom apty demonstrated that there is a market for crappy things.

Oddly enough, this appeared toplessly LRX several times before ebay. The seller evidently added the blue top in attempt to increase its appeal.

Why would it get yanked? It's a Series truck with Defender parts?

iSpell is a beautiful thing. Also, I never realized it but Google toolbar has a spell checker in it too that works real nice.

Speaking of eBay... this auction has the most Camel Trophy BS I've ever seen... This guy is full of it....

LOL not even close!

The only thing he did to make it a 'tomb raider' defender is the paintjob, defender grille and diamond plate and lights.

Where's the roll cage, winch bumper, storage rack, snorkle..... oh wait, that's right it's a BAD rip-off job.

LMAO!!!

That's really funny, as the d90 was never used in the Trophy. Not enough cargo room.

I should ask him a stupid question, I wonder if it shows on the actual auction like the others I've seen. Well, I'll give it a shot... :D

It's at his discretion whether it shows or not. It's a little check box on the reply screen for him.

Actually, there was CT D90s the year of I think the Russia trip. There is video footage of a door-less d90 being heli-lifted out of the event but they were not the primary truck for the event, and then there these 2 trucks. Yes they seem to be rare as hen's teeth, but there was a couple made.

Some D90 enthusiast you are.. I swear.

You know, I thought it was in the History of the Camel Trophy DVD (or whatever they called it) but now that I am thinking about it, it could have been a clip on one of the older promotion DVDs they play in the Dealerships. You remember those, when they use to show that Land Rovers can be used off-road. Anyway, it was only like a 3-5 second shot of it being lifted out with no doors.

Was it a Arles Blue with 35s and NH tags? I think that truck was having gear problems... LOL

No they lifted this one from a parking lot, not a mud hole.

Is it me or does the upside down undercarrage shot look a little rusty?
