Yeah, the tread pattern does not look right. And the real TRs don't have a cab or any real top. I also don't like that he included pics of a real TR, someone might not read they are not the truck for sale. But it does show that there are some major differances between the 2, I like the real TRs tub/bed better.

They look like the www.high-tec-retreading.com OTR mud tire. After a second look they dont even look that good. The High-tec retread is a better looking tire.

Why can't everyone give this "Tomb Raider" thing a rest. The real truck was not that great to start with, and the replicas are awful. How about that guy selling a modified Series III swb with 4 lights mounted right on the window frame. I'd just as soon drive a Knight Rider lookalike.

I pretty much only like the last picture in the gallery, other than that I think that the tomb raider is gay.

I have to admit that I would take that truck in a heartbeat if the price was right. I am the furthest thing from a Land Rover purist, seeing stuff like this or the hood mounted light pod that gives soo many others the fits doesn't bother me a bit. I do think it is bogus that the guy is trying to pass off retreads as brand new tires

Interesting idea for a Land Rover club, Mandy. The club web site might need a wee bit of work before it's ready for prime time.

yep sorry about that... bit premature, but come on guys dont knock our rigs!!??
Still the site will be up and running soon, Gaydon Heritage weekend is on this weekend and we will be there on mass (watchout for press coverage) along with the "Real" one from the film, on our club stand.
FYI only Tombraiders with the seeing eye badge and the correct logbook (sorry dont know what that is over there)are the real McCoy.
Mine is No 17. out of 250.

No, what I meant about the lights on the window frame was that it simply looks pathetic. Sort of like a kiddie car version. Actually, these trucks remind me of the guys who put V8 badges on 4 cylinder cars. Proving once again, though, that any interest has a dedicated website.

Of course, do you guys get to hear much about events here?
Anyone get over for some?
They are great for buying allsorts of stuff especially LR gear clothing! ( big discounts!!!) i spend 's just at that stall, and of course then theres all that bling!
Gaydon isnt one of the biggest "show" of the year, but as its held at the Landrover Heritage centre there is always a good turn out of rare and differant rigs, and there is the chance to have a look round the official LR museum.( so thats this weekend sorted)
We have just had the 1st Sodbury sortout (biggest LR auto jumble) of the year.... brought loads of 2nd hand bits for the series there.
And the "show" season hasnt started yet....... so there will be plenty of photos thoughout the year for you guys to see and i promise they wont be all of TOMBRAIDERS! lol!

Hey Mandy, I'm going to be in London in mid July, are there any shows at that time and if so are there any close to London.

I plan to be mobile if I can rent a car there.
