To cancel Order with credit card dispute

Advice requested. I ordered an AR from a company 13 weeks back. It's a custom billet gun of nice quality. The quotes 10 to 12 weeks build. I've exchanged emails with the company and was assured on time delivery. I've had trouble with them answering email, etc (I.e. Horrible customer service.) I'm not impressed by the lack of communication and am thinking of canceling my order by disputing with Citi - my card used. Anything I should consider before doing this. If like to get the gun, but I'm tired of their customer service antics.

Ive been in this same situation with an AK build. I canceled the order after I was completely let down by customer service and got tired of broken promises.

Imagine how bad it will be if you get the AR and you have problems then.

I have disputed service twice when using a credit card, both times I was made whole, call your cc company and they will tell you how to do it, the sooner the better. You will have to write a letter explaining your position. Your problem sounds pretty simple. Time is of the essence, do it now, call your cc company, good luck,

I work in the credit card banking business. Contact your card bank and dispute it. You shouldn't have any issues (it's called a chargeback).

The key is to not take delivery of the product. I had a similar situation... Item was delivered two weeks after I cancelled it. They didn't want to take it back (being custom). I drove it back to them and left it at their front desk.

My CC company requested I document the dates of delivery and return. Had my money credited back within 48 hours.

Best of luck.

Thanks gents, handled today. I issued the dispute and will be credited in 2 days. Citi told me not to take delivery and I then explained to the agent how FFL transfers work. Sad to not be able to support this veteran owned company, but taking full payment and having an MIA customer service makes me weary.

1 week over on a 12 week custom build and you're throwing in the towel??? I've had good luck with just threatening delinquent companies with a CC dispute, and I've had my share dealing with some offroad vendors.

I'm two weeks past with a full week of daily emails with not even a simple "sorry we're behind, or we're missing parts". I've better ways to spend my time. I also still stand on principal and I think they should as well. If you sell a product and say its going to be on time, do it. I ended up finding an internet page full of guys with 2014 orders that have yet to be filled. I think I made a good move today.

Glad to hear it. It's still not over. They may still try to deliver it... Just return it unopened. Send an email or call informing them of the cancellation.

Also, my cousin sees your rig around town every once in while.

If it's worth waiting for and if the company has a good reputation, why not wait a while longer? I've been waiting for a a rifle for about four and a half months now but the company has a stellar reputation and they were upfront about the build time.

I'm not too worried. I already called my FFL and told them to return to sender. Since I have to do transfer paperwork with it being a gun, it's pretty easy to not take delivery. That's funny your cousin sees my truck. It's usually setting in the garage now days. Kind of sad actually. Seems like we get too busy with everything. Does your cousin live in Tyler?

I considered hanging on and the reason I did not hold on my order is because the company has an awful reputation. Here's a sample: Arsenal Democracy – Incommunicado? « breachbangclear.com

If we're talking Larue or Noveske, I'd have no issues waiting. But, unfortunately, with this outfit, they make a great product, but don't deliver. After reading about others with orders outstanding going on a year, I figured waiting may be unwise. Seems like these guys may have production issues coupled with a lack of customer service personnel. They're pretty small and I can understand not wanting to get too big especially since their product suite is AR only.

Yes; she's married to an attorney in Tyler. I guess it's been about six months since I was out there. I showed them a picture of my 110 and they both said they had seen a 'green two-door' version around Tyler. I showed them a picture of an LE and said yep, that's it. Figured you were it out there, as least for LE's.
