Thumbs up Tirerack

I ordered a set of winter tires & wheels for my wife's VW Golf two days ago (Tuesday 4:30pm). This included mounting & balancing. I expected about a week for them to arrive.
Just now I check the order status and they are already out for delivery.

I'm not really that surprised. Tire rack has been emailing me specials on winter tires for at least 3 to 4 months.
Funny thing is I live too far south to need them. Although I have a feeling this winter we will see a good ice storm in central Texas.

I've had good luck with them, too. I bought a couple sets of tires, had them stud them, picked them up at their warehouse about 10 minutes from work. Pricing seems to be in line with the other online places and not paying freight helps.

My co-worker ordered a set of winter tires for one of his cars from tirerack... tires & rims, mounted and balanced were delivered to his house in less than 20 hours from placing the order.

I've had a similar speedy experience with TireRack. I've also had similar experience with Discount Tire Direct (they had Coopers, whereas TR did not). My Cooper ST/MAXX arrived before the promised date and they had the lowest price guarantee and free shipping.
