Thoughts on selling a raffle prize?

So I know the vendors do a lot for the Land Rover community.

I've got a prize (or maybe two) that I've won and I'm thinking I'll never use. I'd like to sell them, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes or erase any goodwill.

Lots of other good causes going on in our community. Maybe re-raffle it? Sell it and put proceeds towards 85Red110's truck? Donate to Will?

I wouldn't have a problem with it. I have won a few guns at various dinners and sold them very quickly. When I look at the amount of dinners/donations I have attended, I have made my contribution to the organization (DU). Just keep patronizing the vendors and I am sure they would be fine with it.

I see nothing wrong in selling it for the fair value that it would be worth regardless if you won it or not. If you think that you may upset people, sell it in a more unbiased place like eBay.

Vendors offer their wares out for raffles for the exposure and to support clubs that support them.
There is nothing wrong with converting a prize you have won and cant use to cash. Often @ events as soon as someone wins something they are surrounded by folks offering to buy it @ a discount. I would think that if you post who the vendor was and give them another plug here, it is perfectly fine to sell or trade the item for something you can and will use.

You won it in a raffle it is yours to sell or trade as you see fit.

I won a bunch of stuff over the years at the National rally some of the items I used, some were traded off and others were sold. If it was a small item that I had no use for I would just give it away or tell them to re raffle it off so someone that wanted it.

as a "vendor" who does most of the RN event giveaways, I would never be offended if the prizes I brought were sold/given away. They more than often are as it's kind of rare to win something you actually "need".

Just a few weeks ago Eric Riston won a Rovers North hat at the VT Over-land-rover event. While it would have been funny to keep it....I think giving it away was the right move

I was under the impression that the nature of a raffle is that the cost of entry exceeds the value of the item being raffled.

If this is the case, then selling a raffle item doesn't seem to me to be unethical.
