This will make the Landy guys feel smug!

I thought this would amuse people after all that has gone on recently. Seems that even new Jeeps are no better than a 25 year old plus Defender.

Unfortunately I suspect there are Land Rover owners who have had similar if not worse experiences. I bought an older Defender expecting it to break because that's what all Land Rovers do.

I would never buy a Chrysler product or a new Land Rover. That goes for GM cars. My 1972 new Chevy Blazer had more that $3000 worth of repairs under warranty in the first year I owned it. My 1977 brand new Corvette had the engine swapped under warranty within 6 months and the T-Roof always leaked when it rained (like a Land Rover).

I always carry a bicycle in the back of my Defender just in case. I have very low expectations of all car manufacturers, including and they always meet them. The only car that I had that I drove for 100K miles and never broke down was my 1977 and Porsche 911 Targa.

I had a 93 Toyota fourrunner for fifteen years and the only thing that ever went wrong was a $15 thermostat (other than what I did to it 4x4 ing)

Chryco quality never, ever disappoints.

I never understood destroying your own car in order to prove a point to a company that does not give a damn. Who exactly are you trying to hurt by destroying your own property?
