Now I'm curious... I can see a 3 in there, which makes sense since you're in 3 land. See if you can read the plate in the original
Those yagis are so highly directional that they are useless while driving as the signal he'll be shooting out will change direction when he moves his steering wheel.

My guess is that he mounts it on his car so that it's easier to point the antennas when he's parked somewhere in a field or something. The antennas are most likely on a pivot so he can change azimuth. He probably just drives around with them on top because it's too difficult to remove them frequently.

He really should just buy a second car, lol.

No this is a lesson that you *CAN* take things too far!

Ed, serveral of the linked pictures show it tilted up for use, using a hitch mounted winch.

He not only drives it around town, he drove it to NE! I can't believe it's legal, although no worse than the painters with 50 ladders on top of a van I guess.

Dude looks like Larry David, LOL

Here's me at the key of this patch array, 1200 watts out on 432. Not quite as nerdy as that roof mounted array, but it got the job done

What's the point of having a conversation with the moon, none the less, having that conversation while on the move? A mobile EME seems silly to me. And is it worth the ridicule?

I would hate to be that guys kid when he does drop off at school.

You can bounce signals off of the moon so theoretically, you can communicate with anyone who can also see the moon and who has a similarly powerful and highly-directional setup.
