TheRoverRegistry.com

Hello everyone...

I have been working on the website for about a year and a half off and on, and I think I finally have a working version that is pretty nice.

check out theroverregistry.com

Basically I just wanted a site where we could all just show off our stuff! And of course drool all over other people's stuff as well

The rigs that are on there now are just for demo purposes... if there is a picture of one of your personal trucks, please know that these are going to be taken off the site as soon as I get enough content... again, these are just for testing, and I apologize if I used any of your pictures... I just did a random search on the web!

I am looking for feedback and / or bugs with the system. This is the first iteration of the site, so I am sure there are bugs in there... If the kind land rover folks of the d-90.com forum could go and register their vehicles on the site, that would be great... and any bugs that you find, let me know and I will get them fixed up.

Search engines like websites to have LOTS of content before you submit them... so my goal is to get 100 vehicles registered before I submit to the search engines...

Thanks... look forward to looking at your vehicle profiles!

The site is FREE of course...

Why is so much personal info required?

The idea being that if you ever put a vehicle in "for sale" status, then the system can provide the information to get ahold of you. Also, eventually I want to do a plot map (not with exact locations...) of the land rover concentrations around the world... that would be very cool to see...

I just fixed a bug on the "create an account" page as well... should be working now.

Not yet.

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

Come to think of it, your fields are probably not apostrophe friendly. So, Irish people will not be able to join.

AHHH>... let me check that out... one sec...

------ Follow up post added October 1st, 2010 09:24 AM ------

looks like the account is created correctly despite the error... so if you get an error when creating your account, click "back", the click "my account", and enter your information... it seems to work then... working on that bug right now...

thanks!

Looks like it added 2 of the 4 pics. It looks like they upload at full size, making it difficult to view. You'll probably want to either set an upload size limitation, and an auto-compress so that you can see the picture in a normal window...then click on it if you want to see the full-size version (for saving, etc.).

Here's mine.

First pic is 151 KB, second is 834 KB, 3rd (not loaded) is 34 KB, 4th (not loaded) is 8 KB. All .jpg's.

Ok... fixed that size display bug for now... just kinda a hack... but it works. I do have the autocompress... but it looks like it has a few bugs...

------ Follow up post added October 1st, 2010 09:49 AM ------

made a few changes... if you could delete that profile and enter it again using the same images, that would be great. Thanks

Tried deleting my profile and re-doing it, now it just plain won't load my profile.

Same message as before, except this time if I hit the BACK button it doesn't load it. Before if I hit the BACK button it at least showed it populated a profile.

Error 500 - Internal server error

An internal server error has occured!

could you please give me steps to reproduce? So you deleted the vehicle profile, and at that moment you got the error?

If you've loaded a profile / vehicle and want to change or add some pics, how do you do that without deleting and starting over?
