Geeez! That sucks. Lost on every level.

I got lucky as hell when I was 15. It was my only run-in with the law. Took my father's car without permission (grand theft auto), only had my driving permit (driving without a license), had a fifth of tequila with us which we were all too chickensh!t to open (minor in possession), and we were on a military base at two in the morning (just to chalk it all up to Federal! Baker Beach, The Presidio). And we knew the area where we were, just sitting all out in the open, had regular MP patrols! My God! For some smart prep kids, we were really stupid!

Fortunately, it was a really slow night on base! The MP's took us back to the brig and toyed with us for about an hour. Scared us sh!tless! Since we weren't drunk, or caused any damage, they simply called all of our parents to come pick us up. If the MP's had been busy, they would've just called SFPD and we would've all been written up and had trouble getting into college. One of us the Air Force Academy. All three of my friend's parents had to come from all over the bay area to pick them up. I wanted to save them the embarrassment by having everyone simply come back to my place, but THAT just wasn't going to happen! Disappointment in the eyes of your parents, priceless! In a bad way.

Scared me straight! It taught me how fast a bad situation can get compounded quickly. Thank God it was a quiet night on base! All we got was a hard earned lesson. No records on any of us and my buddy did get into the Air Force Academy.

We were so lucky! Got nothing but respect for those MP's.

You poor bastard...lol.. That's hilarious.. Federal park guys have incredible powers...suffice to say, don't get caught speeding on the blue ridge parkway on motorcycles...not easy to run from either..lol..[/QUOTE]

Blue Ridge Parkway is some mighty fine riding, But Tail of the Dragon is posted 40mph, never went below 60. 318 curves in 11 miles, if you ain't donit you gotta.

At 40 mph, hardlys fall over on the bends

Oh yeah... Done the dragon and thankfully never been bit by it..lol.. Did it on my fully built carbon 996 ducati... And pretty stinking quick..haven't pushed my luck like that since... The blue ridge is nice also but the most fun I've had on it is riding it on my 1976 triumph Bonnie.. That's more my riding style now... And much more relaxing..

Every encounter I have with LE, I have been carrying. Makes for some real interesting conversations.

Also I would hate to get arrested in Russia. With an American passport.

True, but with a concealed carry permit they know you've been fully vetted. I just hand them my permit card with my drivers license and they know they're dealing with one of the good guys. I think it actually helps. Nothing but good experiences with LE for me. And sheriff's deputies are the best as they have way more flexibility and cops.

Only problem I had while carrying was with GSP, Georgia State Police, or as they are known around here, God's Special Police.

Other then that, only good things to say. And I hand the permit over with the ID too.

We could do a whole separate thread on LE stories...

Classic case of "I don't have to outrun the cop. I just have to outrun you."

From the stories in the news, the worst country to be locked up in is North Korea.

Best friend. Islamabad, Pakistan. 30 days. 1994. Trumped up charges to get boss to cough up a bribe that he had refused.
