A friend of mine runs a land rover / range rover specialty repair shop. Based on his experience, they are capable of stopping anywhere, anytime, at any cost.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

I always say that LR would have a much better reputation if they had included diesels in the NA product sets. Hanging your hat on just the buick V8 was a recipe for disaster.

I remember when that CL ad came up - there was so much interest the bloke pulled it and the guy who bought it drove out with a trailer 2hrs after the posting was up!

It is a really cool story, I wish the scars weren't from a trailering mishap.. but thats water under the bridge. So great that this US rover legend is alive, getting some TLC, and getting on the trails.
