I think the lights come in either IR or white (sorry for the confusion). I haven't seen any combo's.

There was an article about the company that makes those wheels in one of the rover mags. Its an english company but they farmed out the foundry to an Italian firm for quality raw material and process. The container should be the easy part I would think its having the right papers so that the "local" check points cant touch them for "processing fees".

Yeah I found that Article, it's pretty interesting.

http://www.silverlinewheels-tyres.co...lindoWheel.pdf

Silverline wants $154 GBPs per rim for those... I still like em though.

As for getting past the checkpoints... I am betting each little warlords area will have these and if your shipping commercially, you ain't getting NOTHING past them with out some cash changing hands. However that may just be part of the price.

The white truck is a 2006 ROW spec Tdi truck that was impounded in a Government yard. It hasn't moved in ages. I'm gonna see if I can buy it. Maybe send parts home. Gotta see if that's legal.
I have imported a 2006 truck as a "parts" vehicle. Shoot me a pm if they will let you buy it.

Post Blindo rim

It's such a small world.
Those rims are made by Arcasting in Veneto, northern Italy.
The company I work for is supposed to be the sole distributor in Italy for all their rims for 4x4 vehicles.
Blindo rims have been developed for military (armoured?) trucks, there's one in the shop if you want some some detailed pics...

The rim might be heavy duty BUT is as heavy as marble

Nice those are made by Oktokar in Turkey. Wish we could bring that can of armor back to LA for our urban jungle.

Spent the week in Kandahar, lots of Defenders running around since the Brits own the battle space.

Wonder how many people might like the mesh seats?

I didn't realize that some military axles were gussetted.

Also noticed an interesting tubular cross member which actually goes through the chassis rails.

Nice Job Jim! Thanks for taking the pics...

Quick Question. Do you see any Canadian Military vehicles over there? What are they driving?

Here in Canada, you see them in G-wagon's...

Stay safe.

Just hit "post reply" instead of using the "quick reply" box, then just click "manage attachments" to bring up the attachment window. I like to use 1024x768 (the max allowable size) in jpeg to keep the kb size down.

Anyhow, pix of Iraq trucks are welcome here, I'll just change the thread title.
