Thank you to Safari HP

hi all,

i just wanted to take the time to thank stephen and the entire crew at safari hp in orlando. over the last couple of month they have restored / modified / updated my personal defender. lots of changes, lots of stuff i am sure they did not want to do - but i am a brat and a PITA.

they took my 1997 defender 90 soft-top in AA yellow and "made" me a 1997 defender 90 of my dreams.

it is now a dark grey
on a galvi chassis
updated G4 interior
rhino lined floors and done right.... not a cheap tape off just and not a messy blob of crap like i have seen on many trucks.
updated mechanics
updated LED head lights
badger supplied Badger II that i had sort of customized [sorry chris] =)

there are some more updates to do once it is back here, so i will update this later as well.

stephen [the nut] went so out of his way to help me, he drove from orlando to palm beach, met my wife and i at the airport, drove us to a parking lot to unload the defender. we left, he left.... then he came back days later to pick up the truck and bring it back to orlando as i was flying home. [so thats 3 hours down to meet us, 3 hours back for him to get home, 3 hours back down to pick it up, 3 hours back to his shop.....! ] i have worked with a LOT of rover shops in the past, i am now completely in love with this group!

so in a world where everyone bitches and moans.... i want people to know that they do great work, they treat you like a human being, they will do whatever you ask of them, they will paint your truck any color you want - even if it is NON stock and wont cry and bitch to you that you are wrecking an NAS truck. they know you are the customer and will say "yes" to about anything you ask them.

the only problems i have:
* they are not closer to me.
* they are starting to get so busy i may not be able to have them build me a d110 wagon soon!!!

thank you again and i appreciate all the work! if anyone has any question with them or need a referral please do not hesitate to ask!

thanks,

keith

that's awesome Keith, looks great, now go get it filthy at WR 2015.

SHP is solid for sure. Wish they were closer and had extra capacity.
Still, a good resource for this community. (that reminds me that I need to call them for a fuel tank and some other bits). Too bad you already left (or it appears) or I'd be on you for RURR

its leaving FL tomorrow - so feel free to stuff it full.
i am powder coating the freestyle.
the inside is not complete yet... i will post more photos in a week or two.

part of me wanted to keep them a little secret so i could selfishly have them build me another truck.... but they really deserve a good "thank you".

best of all you can actually call and talk to someone, even stephen too. =)

If you are going to powdercoat the wheels, I think you need to complete the image by putting a coating of some sort over the chassis.

Nice build, Keith. They did my truck in 2013 and did a terrific job, as well. Stephen has a solid crew. Mine is BRG and I recently added Kahn 1948 alloys in bright finish for a contrast, which also tied in with the galvy chassis.

Safari HP is the best. Stephen fabbed me NAS fuel tank mounts when I couldn't find them after looking for almost 2 yrs.
Keith - nice work congrats. did you go with Richards or Marsland? Now waxoyl everything around that new frame before it gets exposed to the elements of the northeast
