Here is a 300TDI without its cover, so you can see the differences.

IDing a tdi(since I do this every day)

Check the belt first, 200 is V belt,

If you can't see it, check the thermostat housing, they're wildly different.

If you can see the turbo from the top, it's absolutely a 200

On an IPhone and not being able to see the belt and now seeing the coolest elbow on my laptop, yes, that is a 200Tdi.

I'd guess 200 series based off headlights and interior.

I would love to see the steering column arrangement.I never was able to track down any truth to the later style steering column will allow you to fit a RHD Disco Tdi into a LHD Defender myth.

Just watched that entire episode with my kids - they loved it too. Thank you for the trip back in time! Now I just need a horse and a rope.

A 300 Tdi exhaust manifold and turbo is rumored as to how to fit a Disco 200Tdi into a LHD truck.

one of my clients, has modded a 2.5TD turbo and manifold onto his discovery 200tdi, to fit into a LHD series vehicle. I supplied him with a reconditioned 200tdi head.

not the column- the steering shaft between the column and the steering box. Td5 up part is a straight thin shaft unlike the early sliding bulbus one.

From the other thread... Apparently 3 door trucks were never sold here as it classifies them as a small truck and subjects them to a 25% import duty. Blame the government!
