Texas registration

Anybody registered a newly imported Defender in Texas. I'm in the National Guard so I have a few options. Any idea on how much it will cost? Trying to weigh the options. Georgia is the other I am considering GA as wel since it is my home of record.

I've registered and titled 2 x

Visit your local Texas tax office.
Complete an Application for Texas Certificate of Title (Form 130-U).
Provide proof of ID, car insurance, vehicle inspection, and ownership.
Pay the $50.75 vehicle registration fee (standard). Note: Additional fees may apply.

I take you are meaning getting title and first reg. Sales tax I think is 2% of the purchase price, (in which case you round down) you can look this up on TXDOT. Plus need import papers. And it seems now days they are wanting a Vin check by the police.

Title application fee $20
REGISTRATION $50.75
Inspection (saftey only) $7.50

Just did this a month ago getting the 101 on the road. Hope this helps?
