Very nice.

Please do I could use the insurance money!

Thanks for the compliment. It spoke to me too. I had no business buying that boat in the first place but it was love at first sight and I couldnt tear myself away.

S&S, by far one of the best design houses out there.
I'm sure that has the potential to be an amazing yacht.
Having worked in the yacht restoration business all my life, before my Rover life, I can say that is one nice looking craft. I hope you find someone with the right vision to keep it going.

Thanks Mike she is the last S&S commuter left in existence. I brought the boat back from the brink but she needs someone to take her to the next level. The fact is there are more of those Craftsmen in Maine then anywhere else in the country. Her is her running a couple summers ago.

Pretty sweet. One of my favorite old boats built and used as a commuter yacht was the OHEKA II built by Lürssen Yachts back in the 20's. Otto Kahn had used it to get from his mansion (also called OHEKA) out on LI to his office on Wall Street (Kuhn, Loeb, & Co - powerhouse back in the day, now long defunct). It's fun to see the old designs...and even more amazing that yours is still around!

You are such a douche for knowing this. Go drink tea on your davenport while your girlfriend clutches her pocketbook.

She is a great looking boat. I personally really like Aphrodite. She was built the same year as Phoenix and just went through a complete restoration actually they rebuilt the entire boat from scratch up here in Brooklin Maine.

Ha, yeah I am prob a douche for knowing that stuff, but I found the 19th and early 20th century finance tycoons to be pretty interesting, and did a bunch of research on them back in the day. I know more about Otto Kahn because he lived in my hometown and his story was one of the more interesting ones...Barry you'll probably appreciate this...as he was one of the wealthiest Jewish bigshots. When Morristown's premier country club (Morris County Golf Club) wouldn't allow him to join because he was Jewish, he bought all of the surrounding property and built his own course and estate (now Honeywell Headquarters). Like you, I know way too much useless crap. Hijack over I think...

I do like to hear about successful Jews. Not many of them so it's nice to hear when one makes it big.

Ok the issue I have is that you guys can all spot a Defender in your rear view mirror going the opposite direction 5 miles away while doing 75mph but there have been no sightings of this boat going cross country.

Not sure I want to go for a ride now seeing as you're looking for a pretty guy to accompany you...not my thang but good luck to you. I'll stick to having fun with shadow puppets in my garage.

So is she heading to Newport after this Winter, or are they just your broker?

Well Im hoping she sells before Spring. Couple interested parties lined up to see her after the holidays so she can be freshened up over the winter but if not Ill keep her in Maine with an eye towards bringing her to some high profile boat shows to drum up a buyer.

Latest update she is on 84 in CT
