Funny Friday thread.

I was going to post this photo in the LR that suck thread. All of a sudden it makes more sense here.

I think in the U.K. They put the body on D1 chassis.

Agree. It is the Cadillac Cimmaron of LR. There is a reason they are called Freeloaders.

If you use the td4 from the UK it's pretty easy to swap the whole front sub section. They are pretty nice trucks with the diesel. They got a bad rap in the US as they only fit the crappy gas motor. They have zero support her is the US and you would never get your money out. Other than that it would be a good conversion.

I agree I think the M47 engine (Td4) would be the only practical swap you could do on the Freelander. I took a look at one at the junkyard today because I haven't really looked at one before. The build quality seemed pretty decent to me. The front end components (transverse engine & gearbox, steering, suspension, etc) look exactly like a Honda CR-V. I'm pretty sure I read Honda had something to do with the development. Between that and the BMW derived Siemens engine management it seems like a frankenstein of sorts. I grabbed the ECU to see if it can be reprogrammed to run an M54.
