Jeff,
I know you don't like the idea of using a stop leak, but 4oz of an 8oz bottle of K-seal would probably stop your small weeps.
Follow the instructions & add slowly to a warm engine is that is so it will spread evenly though the system.

Uggg....I do hate the idea of putting anything like stop-leak in the coolant.
I already have another brandy-new freeze plug!

Question: Are there any plugs on the back of the motor?
