Tailgate conversion from Fold down to Swing open

Is there hardware readily available to change a fold down tailgate on a Tithonus or Series from the fold down style into a swing to the side to open style tailgate? I rarely see people using the later style but I'm curious of what bits would be needed to do that job.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have one like that. Just two standard hinges and a door opener. Will make some pictures later this week, doesn't look a difficult conversion.

Nice. I didn't think it would be too challenging so that's good to hear.
Do like it set up that way and are there any advantages you like about that set up? Basically what made you decide to do that.

Somewhere I have a to-scale template for where to drill the key hole if you use a standard locking latch, if you would like it. I used the fold down brackets to keep the tailgate in place then drilled holes for the side hinges. I opted to place the side hinges in the same position they would need to be for a full rear door, in case I ever swapped to a full door.

Plenty of kits available in the UK , the one I have bought did not required any new drilling if you keep the upper left locking mechanism, if you want it all NAS 90, you have to drill.

The difficult decision you will have to make ( many have opted to keep the original fold down lock ) is replacing the locking mechanism.

I have to look where the hell I have mine, when ready to install, I changed my mind and decided to keep the original fold down

herewith some pictures.
THe hinges are on the same place as a standard door.
THe door handle is a little lower and holes have to be drilled for the door catcher
