Tactical Helmets

So as some of you have experianced, every now and again your tactical helmets wear, and well...lose their luster to the grit and grime of it all...

I found a company that seems to have a few good products...Pro Helmets (pthelmets.com) and their products aren't over priced so you can still go to the live fire range! Yes most of their products are "tactical" and can't take a straight shot but I've never been too confident that anyone's standards are what they say they are...

They are good bump helmets for sure (going through a low door or something and knocking yourself out by hitting your head is not tactical at all!). No ballistic protection at all, but also a good setup for PVS-14s and such.

If you are in a military unit, pthelmets will give you a pretty decent discount if you buy in bulk. My last platoon bought about 20 high cut Mich and high cut protecs and they gave us about 20% off.

Their ballistic helmets are the same that the US military are issued, they just give the option to have different ear cut styles. So really they are just as ballistically sound.

Ray G is also pretty spot on. A $50 protec beats a halo mount for night vision any day, and it offers some bump protection.

Edit: it looks like they no longer offer the high cut versions. Shame.
