SVX or new 110 thoughts?

I wanted some of your thoughts. I just looked at a 2008 110 SVX with 84,000K. The guy is asking 49k AUS and won't budge. I could also buy a brand new 110 for 55-59k AUS. Want do you guys think? On one hand I could have SVX it's in good shape but not great. A few scratchs and so forth. On the other hand for not much more I could go new

If you are going to use it, I would go new. Black looks great if you really look after it; but it will show every imperfection if it gets knocked around a bit. .02

How long do you plan on keeping this vehicle and how long will you be in Australia? If the SVX will hold up in value by virtue of being an SVX, then I would go that route. You can always get a new truck, but you may not always be able to get an SVX.

I would say new. When things are that similar in price I prefer new for the piece of mind and warranty, etc.

Well, if you get a brand new one you'll have to wait all the way until 2037 to import it to the US, but if you get the 2008 you'll only have to wait until 2033.

As crazy as that sounds I was actually thinking about that! My wife thinks I'm crazy. I only plan to be here for 3 years or so.

3 years? Well...I would like to offer a suggestion of skipping over the 110 and finding a 130, 1990 or older.

I kinda want a newer one but was planning to keep my eyes open for a 22-25 year old 110 or 130 and ship it back when I move. Them seem to hold their value well here. My LR4 is about 135k here. Crazy huh. I may ship it and pay for the conversion because it still ends up being cheaper than buying something here. Toyota Prius run over 50k.
