Surfboard Rack

Hi guys,

What are you using to hold your surfboards securely? Did a bit of searching and it looks like as of a couple years ago, the Yakima X Towers were the go-to choice but it seems they are hard to track down these days.

Any thoughts appreciated,

Jimmy

I take off the top and use the rollbars - wrap the 2 velcro/straps pieces around and then stack up the boards. Works well and will keep the sun off the kids in the back.

For people with hardtops, a regular roof rack. I think bossman's main reason to build one was to get boards on and off quickly.

This is what I make for customers with surfboards and other long toys. It's regular cross bars with an extension added to the rear bar to support the boards and keep 'em off the cage.

Can be made for either truck - they are all custom.

Wolf, those are really nice, great design. I have the Thule ones and had them on my old SW or my ST, they were too close to securely strap a kayak, bike or surf board.
