Street useable beadlocks

Who makes Street useable beadlocks that will balance and able to run at 75mph on the highway?

Randy

I think all beadlocks are not street legal. you could get some fake locks tho that are legal for st. that being said I know some people with locks and they run em on the road with no trouble.

I don't care if they are offically legal, I just want to know which ones would be good for also running on the street and can be balanced

Randy-
The lighter, the better. I had some Allied 17" steelies that were nice. I had a rough time getting 2 of them balanced, though. I believe it was more tire than wheel, but the combo was so heavy & the 2 were so far out of balance, nothing could really be done.

FWIW, there is one street legal beadlock I read about ~6 months ago, but I can't remember the company now. They didn't have a LR bolt pattern.

IMHO, you can run any of them on the street. The better quality the locking ring and the more bolts you have to mount the locking ring, the better performance you'll get (ie - less chance of air loss or a bolt breaking on the highway). The Allieds are nice because of the 32 bolt lock ring . And, then there's always the WE ones we talked about. ... but, only in 17s. Regardless, keep a close eye on the bolts. I often had to torque mine back to spec. But, I never had an air leak ...& that includes a trip to Cruces (12 hours one-way) with 4 days of wheeling.

Here's the Allied info .... I think their probably the best bet if you're not going 17" rims ....

THanks Guys I think I will go with them after all. If I go with 37's and 17's, I also know who to call Troy....

I think the street legal locks are made by Hutchenson (hutchinson).

FWIW

Here is a link to some DOT compliant bead locks. They also state that custom stuff is available.

That's where I saw them first Randy, polyperformance.

Yo Troy, you need a test truck for those wheels. They just look much better on my D90 with Krawlers too

lol ... patience my young grasshopper .... hopefully a test truck will be around soon. They would look good on your rig... except, unfortunately, I don't have a 'demo' set. So, cash is the only way to get them on there... & I happen to know where you can get a set of 5 new Red Label Krawlers for $1500. But, you'll have to go to the Rally!!!

Anyhow, looks like there's one 'big dog' getting ready to order a set & I'm shooting for them on mine if I can ever get my plans straight. I got to get it together first, then I'll worry about the bling.

Randy, the problem with Allied is the ring sticks out to far, you'll have really hard time not scraping your rings, and they will look like crap after few off road trips, or it could be me since I'm running 12.5 on 10" wheels plus the rocky terrain. I'll post pictures of mine later tonight.

Troy, What test truck? disco or 90? As for the WE wheels they look sweet but one problem though, if I paint them black they will look like any other wheels

Yousef's rings are pretty scraped ... but that's what they're there for , right Yousef? Mine weren't so bad, but I was only running a 8" wide rim. With those 10" ones on his truck, the rig feels really stable. I'm certain there's a suspension component to that because his truck is so well balanced, but I could tell a pretty big difference between my rig and his espeically on side tilts. I always thought the 8" wheels looked better, but I think the 10" wheels perform better.

paint?!? man, you're killing me .... get the polished ones. Then you'll look like you were on "Pimp My Ride".

I like'em black they just look much better on my rig. However, that will take the nice design out of it if they get painted black and they will look like any other wheels

Do you know if any body make a replacement rings for the Allied? I'm looking for something like the TR beadlock rings.
