I am not sure why but I picture the guy driving through the fence and pulling right into a g4 event sorta like the Joker in The Dark Knight did with the school bus. No one will notice.

That sucks. Sorry to hear it. Hope they recover it quickly with no damage.

They may as well have stolen the FC. Perhaps the most conspicuous vehicle around. Has to be kids/idiots.

I gather it is a newer rr, if so how did they defeat the inmobilizer? that is one difficult thing to crack on this sucker even in the shop with the right tools. those people should be hired by lr as tech support... you do know you can track that vehicle thru it's on board navi/gps right. if you are the registered owner of said unit you can call lrna, speak with customer service, give them police report info and they will track that sucker to with in 20 feet of it's actual location, plus the path it has taken since it was sold new. for a fee of course.

Several years a go I worked at a car factory and some high school kids stole four Mitsubishi Eclipses off the lot and drove through the fence. They got caught cause they bragged about it at school.

My condolences.. that blows. If they steal your Dormobile, I'm going to track the little bitches down myself.

That sucks Tim I hope you find it quickly and with minimal damage. Any video surveillance? Newer RRs are very easy to get into. My wife locked her keys in once. AAA showed and with a pair of jumper cables and a screw driver was in within 5 seconds. Getting it started is another matter.

That's why I said I doubt it was kids, unless someone forgot to pull the keys....

Popsci website. Just saying

White-hat hackers (that's the good, helpful kind) Michael Gough and Ian Robertson have created an Android app that's capable of breaking into the very popular cardkey-type door locks with a single click. It's not foolproof, since it requires some information about each cardkey system that not everyone will have, but it's still pretty amazing/uncomfortable.
The app (which is not in the Android Market, so don't even bother looking for it) is called Caribou, and relies on a vulnerability in these sorts of security systems that allows them to be unlocked remotely. It's actually a surprisingly lo-fi sort of app: You have to input the IP address of the system you're trying to hack, and then the app will perform a brute force attack (basically trying every single possible combination) until it lands on the correct one. Then the app will unlock the door for 30 seconds while you scoot inside the not-so-secure door.

Oh damn! Tim that sucks! I hope you get it back, and not because I wanted to buy it some day.
They couldnt have picked a truck that blends in at least a little, they went for the grand "hey look at this unique, highly memorable colored truck"

------ Follow up post added March 18th, 2011 06:44 PM ------

Making thread a sticky.. I'll add the picture link to the first post as well for you Tom

That thing is running around the streets of Juarez right now with a couple of Narcos hanging out the windows blasting people with their AKs.

In all seriousness though, good luck and I hope it turns up abandoned on some rural road or out of the way parking lot intact and soon.
