Stolen Defender 130

Our shop had a break in over night and a Defender 130 was stolen from Wilmington NC facility. If anyone sees or hears anything help would be appreciated.
Not a nice way to start a Monday with a nice kick to the stomach.

They torched the lock on the gate, we are still taking stock hoping nothing else was lifted.

They must have cased the place if they knew to bring a torch, right? Maybe someone noticed something.
That sucks.
Good luck!

That truly sucks. Any surveillance camera footage ?
Won't be an easy truck to hide.

What on earth can you do with a stolen 130 unless you really know defenders? How many of those people are not on this forum? Creepy. I hope the thieves reconsider stealing a shiny sore thumb of a vehicle and it turns up on the side of the road unscathed.

What idiot would steal a 130? That's gonna stick out like a sore thumb. Good luck. Pretty sure we will see it again.

The good thing is that this is one of those rare cases where the vehicle is worth much LESS outside the US border, so you don't have to worry about it ending up on a container bound for China or Russia.

There is no amount of time or distance that will decrease this vehicle's attention. So if the theives think just because it's easy to swap a brake booster/VIN plate, it's still going to pop up and attract attention.

Good luck with the recovery and I know I speak for the entire board when I say we will definitely be looking for this truck. Sorry for the loss.

Given the cost of acquisition I'd say these are false economics.

Mark/Himalaya has many clients outside the US.

Hmmm, I never thought of that, but wouldn't it be easier to accomplish that build, say in Bulgaria where parts are readily available and labor is considerably cheaper?

Mexico maybe because you could drive it there and there are plenty of drug lords that would love this rig.

Either way, I hope somebody finds these assholes and leaves them in a ditch.

Wow, that sucks. Scary thought is that it is probably already in a shipping container. Your proximity to a major shipping port and all.

The 130 might not be worth much but with all of the shiny stuff on it, it would be.

It stands out. Probably taken away inside a long trailer or under a tarp.

Prepared enough to have mobile cutting equipment.
