Angry Stolen Defender 110

I'm sure Mike will move this but I thought this is a good place to get everyone's attention. Anyone know this rig or the owner?

If someone knows him, have him post as much detail about the truck here. The more details the better.

My Husband is the Lieutenant for the Okaloosa sheriff's office, I will print out
the picks of the vehicle and have him hand them out to the deputies.

It was found yesterday south of Eugene. From what he said it was stripped down, but not to the ground. They were mostly interested in his GPS, Ham, and other equipment. Although they did take the SG bumper, winch, dash cluster, etc. Apparently it was "meth" related.

It wasn't a SG bumper but a Rover Hybrids bumper, it is a one off. They look very similar, especially in pictures.
here's a write up on the bumper:
http://www.roverhybrids.com/D110_Bumper.html

Some easy to spot differences:
no tube below the headlight area of the brush guard.
Cut outs for fog light.
tube gusset supporting center area of brush guard

Unless it's gone to pawn, should be able to find that stuff for "sale" online. At least the dash fixings, bumper, etc. I would bet they trip up and someone out there notices this stuff go up for sale.

GREAT looking welds! Man, that stacked dime pattern makes me horny.

Ok, hijack over. If we all keep an eye out for the bumper, I bet we find it.

The bumper will most likely be torn down and sold as scrap. That's the typical SOP for meth-heads around here. It's so bad that they've begun to dissassemble the guard rails out on BLM bridges so that they can cash in on the aluminum scrap.

I saw (at least I think I saw) this truck at the Portland ABFM last September. If I have an image of it, it's probably still in my queue of to-process images.

DJ summed it up quite well. Here's a message from the owner describing the recovery -- a few more details.

Good news is they found my truck yesterday morning (Saturday 4/16), the bad news is the interior is pretty thrashed. Appears to be drug/meth related based on the total disregard for the condition of anything. There were most interested in electronic accessories, stereo, GPS, Ham radio, Optima batteries, power converter... but also took the bumper and winch... They were not kind in getting things out or off the truck. They went as far as to cut the seat belts, rip off all the seat covers, unscrew the driving/turn signal (but left them hanging there), stole the dash cluster, took the spare tire off the hood and left it on the ground, took the hood off and it was sitting on top of the engine, strole the sun roof!, took off the front door panels but there was nothing there to take, no speakers, no nothing....on and on.

It was found about 40 miles from my house towards the coast on a dead end logging road. It appears to have been taken straight there and started stripping it.

Parasites! Disgusting, useless parasites. What else can I say? Thank goodness you got your truck back, Christian.

News travels fast, already made it to the east coast! Dumb ass put it on eBay with a link to Shane's / Roverhybrids web page. Some one called Shane asking if it would fit a Land Cruiser. Shane called me, I called the detective and 2hrs later he had my bumper. That's the good news, bad news is they don't make much effert to follow up on the rest of the stuff that was tollen. To top it off the guy lies and says he bought it from someone, don't remember who, and nothing happens to him. They can't prove anything so he walks...
