Steve Jobs is dead at 56

Wow, just wow. I'm shocked, but I think we also saw it coming.

I suspect that we'll eventually hear that he died of liver failure and/or significant side effects of immunosuppression.

Kinda unbelievable really, though wife, the medical professional, had omens about his health due to his weight just prior to his retirement. I'm not one to fixate, at all, on "celebrities," but this one actually kinda makes me feel bad. My house completely relies on and operates on Apple products... wonder where we go from here? Wasn't Jobs the force behind the products?

He was the driving force for sure. Created the company then left in the 80s I think then came back and introduced the iMac, iPod, iPhone... Hopefully his influence has really been ingrained in his successor and the company will continue to innovate.

It is sad... I think the company will be fine, stocks will plummet tomorrow morning and then come back a little before the closing.

Well while Steve may have been at the top, there are hundreds of engineers who made those products reality. They are still there at Apple, toiling away. I won't sound the death knell of the company just yet....

Definitely a sad event, but much to appreciate about him and what he's contributed to the world from ideas, technology, to changing the global consumer experience. Created the biggest company in the world!

He was behind the wheel for sure... when he got canned by the CEO, Apple went to shit... That's when he started Pixar's... then came back and created all the gadgets.
