Question Steel Rims

A buddy of mine gave me 5 Wolf steel rims (NATO, I think). I was interested in replacing my alloy rims and also needed new tires anyway. Now I can do both at once. The rim dimensions are stamped 6.5j x 16 x 20.6. Although I understand all 3 aspects of those numbers, I don't know what size tires to order. The rim by itself fits nicely on the hub, so offset isn't a problem.

I have a pristine Bridgestone All terrain as my spare on the stock alloy rims. It is LT265/75/R16. I know what all those numbers mean too. What I don't know is, will that tire fit on that rim? Any clues?

The rims are 6.5inches wide x 16inches . You can put your 265/75 -16 on them or even a 285/75-16. The 285s are 33inches tall and the 265s are 31inches tall. 90s look really good with the 285s and if you wheel a little, you will appreciate the added clearence. JP
Also some folk like a 255/?-16 tire

The 255's are sweet, they fit the NATO rim nicely

255/85s that is - 285/75 is getting a bit fat for 6.5J rims.

I assume they're tubeless, because they had valve stems installed in the holes from the previous tires. Correct?

Not always so tubed type rims will have tubed stamped on the rim and tubeless have a sort of lip slightly inboard ofthe edge of the rim, helps keep the tyre bead in place.
