Sportsmobile

Anybody have any experiences with Sportsmobile and renting one? Considering coming out to Colorado next June, and mulling over driving one of my Rover rolling restorations or flying out and having something still functioning when I get there....

My neighbor has a Ford Sportsmobile. Has the lifting top for the bunk bed. He has a generator, stove, toilet, fridge, water, etc...... The van is ARB locked front and rear. Winch, air compressor, etc.

My neighbor has driven from Boise to Baja to the Black Hills to Moab. It's got everything an RV has. Not quite as roomy as a large camper, but the S'mobile is small enough he can take it on almost every trail I take my 110 on.

If you rent one you won't be disappointed. I think you'll want to buy one. I hear the Sprinter version with the Mercedes diesels are even nicer.

I have a trailer top tent camper- Latitude Everest, an LR3, a 110 and a 92 Rangie. The family doesn't want to drive out so I could pick them up along the way.
Or fly out, rent something and have more time to explore.
Technically, it's my birthday and I might be able to get my way.

Saw a Sportmobile last weekend at the Overland Festival, and am pretty sure I saw one when we were going to Yellowstone last month. Seems like it would do the trick....
