Some note about the upgrade

Just a few notes I can think of off hand to let you know about:

New/Updated Features:
Private Messages (PM's) - There is a completely reworked Private message system in place now. A much better interface and jumping between the Inbox and Sent items as well as a graph bar letting you know immediatly, how much space you are using up. Also, the private message alert is now located at the top of the forum.
Similar Topic Check - For those that noticed, or tried, it on the previous forum, there is a much better version of the Similar Topic Search installed now. For those who dont know, when you go to create a new thread, a prompt will show up to the right side of your subject title. If you click on that before typing out your message in the message field, the topic search will quickly search the existing threads and pull up the top 5 matches (if any) that closely relate to your subject. You can then look at the existing topics in a seperate window and see if they truely are, or closely match, what you were about to create a new thread on. If not your original window you were about to type your post in will still be open and you can continue to finish your post. This is not a manditory search but using it in the Technical section will help cut down on repeat topics if they already have been covered.

Similar Thread Search - This is back again and using the same search queries that the Similar Topic Check uses, only this automaticly shows up at the bottom of exisiting threads displaying other threads that closely match the current topic. You do not have to do anything for this to work. If topics score a similar match, they will be displayed.

Multiple Attachments - You can now attach up to 5 attachments per post. Pictures, as before, will be thumbnailed in the post.

Outstanding Issues:
SpelChek - Not available yet but working on it.
PM box blinking when new PMs arrive - Working on a fix
Links Database - Not working yet. Should be back up before the end of the weekend.
Help - The Help part of system is a bit lacking compaired to the last version however, it is much easier to add new items to so if you have questions not explained there, please post them in the Help Forum and it can be added to that,

System requirements:
The site is optimized for IE 6+ so if you can, update to the latest and greatest your perticular browser brand. It will help make the most use of the funtions here on the forum and other sections of the site as they are pulled into the database. This has been tested on IE6, Safari, MAC IE5x with minor issues and should be equally compatible with the latest versions of Mozilla and Firebird. If you use a pop-up blocker, you should disable it for use here on The D-90 Source as there are some funtions that are presented in pop-up format here and there. There is no advertising pop-ups or software of any kind, so you wont need it enable here anyway.
