Soft Top That Opens Above Front Seats

I recently purchased a ROW soft top 90. I plan to install a Safety Devices RBL188 NAS roll cage (or equivalent). I'm wondering if there are any aftermarket soft tops out there that will allow the top to only open above the front seats while leaving the back part intact. Kinda like the Wrangler has for some time now.

Here's a old picture from the Nene Overland web site that I can't seem to find anymore. They had called it an 'extreme soft top'.

I'm pretty sure the Exmoor tops can do that. Ask Zack at Rovers North, he is the Exmoor expert.

Tickford tops can open above the front seats. Its more of a pain in the ass then its worth. Especially with the snap buttons. We undo everything to get the canvas back in the slot to secure it above the windshield again. Its like reinstalling all over again. Just easier to use a tonneau and bimini top in combination.

X2. Did it once many years ago. Easier to just remove the top and put it back on...

Go with an ROW top/header and it is not so bad, as the header 'releases' and pops up to release the top leading edge. I have one on my 90, and love it- and had it done in Tickford two tone gray...

Exmoor has one specifically designed for that roll cage. The part number is EXT247-L188. Call Zack at RN.

I have a ROW 90 too and the header bar on mine has 4 tabs that will release/loosen the header bar.

I was working on my truck today and I had all the canvas secured, except the top front... just like the 3rd/4th pictures.

I'll snap a picture tomorrow.

Here are some pics of my truck...

You should be able to do it with a header bar like this.

I've got an exmoor trim soft top in black mohair and it does roll back to the rollbar, there are tapes and buckles to keep it rolled up. I can take photos if you want.

regards
Gren

Just waiting to hear back from RN. Gren, pictures would be great. Any idea of the model or part number of your Exmoor top?

Dro, What ex-MOD top do you have?

Also, what roll cage setup are you guys using? Thx. John

OK so I have the ex-mod header bar that came with the truck. Unfortunately I'm missing 3 of the 4 tabs that release/loosen the header bar. Any ideas of a part number or source of parts? Thanks.
