Socket storage boxes

After a fruitless 2+ hour search all over the web I am seeking help.

I have been looking for some small metal boxes to store and organize my socket sets.

I bought some at a swap meet some years ago for like $5 each. Anyone know where I can get some in and around that price?

I found this online but it is $15. I was looking for something a bit cheaper.

Wow. You actually found a small metal box for your sockets. I never could find any boxes and ended up going with those plastic (heavy duty plastic) trays with the magnets in them to hold the sockets in place. They store flat which is kind of nice.

I feel like Sears should have something...but maybe all their boxes have sockets already in them.

Go to your local Harbor Freight... You can get them there, with the sockets in them, for around $11.00. Why take your good stuff with you. Their brand has a lifetime warranty and they have the impact version to use with your powertank.

I am not looking for these cases to keep in the truck, but rather to keep my box at home in better order. I am not a fan of those "stick" socket keepers and liek the little boxes, since I can take the whol box of my 3/8 standard stuff (or 1/4" metric, etc.) to the truck while I work.

That said, I will check out a HF store. I did not even realize they had stores, but apparently there is only about 25 miles from my home.

No luck getting the boxes at HF. Actually I had no idea that HF had stores -- I thought they only did mail order. But, there was one not too far from here and I checked it out.

They did not have the boxes for individual sale. Some of their socket sets did come in these boxes, but they did not sell any boxes stand alone.

That said, I did pick up some other odds and ends that were on sale. They had zip ties and some nuts/bolts organizers pretty cheap.
