If you want something in northern California I know of someone who is wanting to sell 500 acres right next to mt Shasta and it's seriously cheap

Try Sayulita Maxico. It's about an hour north of PV and is surrounded by mountains and ocean. I had a guy from Banff that was thinking of buying my 90 to take there for his winter home. Apparently his driveway is a bit of a climb.

Great Input Guys,

So this is my plan...Christmas morning we are going to wake up and go to the airport with carry on bags and jump on the first flight we see that looks anything close to my above criteria and journey for about 7 days.

Insane or a good idea?

I will post about the journey...

Seat of your pants last min trips can be fun, just depends on how you roll with the punches and what you expect of it.

If you are going to a diffrent country (other than the US) get a map and english to whatever language you might need from the bookstore in the airport prior to departure.

Couple of links that I use when going to a country that I am not familiar with.

If you end up going to Costa Rica I can give you a few tips on places to stay, things to avoid and things to see dependant on what part you go to.

Hiya D-90ers,

Merry Christmas or is it Happy Holidays now...So we went to the airport Christmas morning and ended up taking a flight to Palm Springs!!! Very Nice so far, looked for something to rent and was told a jeep was an exotic?! I had to laugh and then hang up! Now driving a convertible Sebring. No Defenders and all around is places to explore off road. Maybe i will see what this sebring to do off the beaten path!

Any suggestion? I think we are going to do the palm canyons / Indian canyons - hiking!

Might even leave all together and venture far till Jan 1st 2010.

Might have to go see the Salton Sea, i heard its much like the movie. HA!

Anyways enjoy your defenders while i miss mine!
