hate to tell you, your best bet is physical removal, looks to be an eastern rat snake (from the photo) hes not venomous, but may have a nasty attitude. you could use one of those old folk grabber tools if you dont want to engage in hand to hand combat

I had the Texas version of that bastard in my pool skimmer. He was 5 feet long and full of fight. He's the reason the wife won't clean the damn pool skimmers any more. The reason I know all of this is that the wife was in the pool when I lifted the cover. I made the mistake of not telling her he was in there, but grabbed the outside fireplace poker and tried to lift him out. He had other ideas and swam out the pool side of the skimmer making a bee line towards the wife. Did I mention she is terrified of snakes and that rat snakes are excellent swimmers? I'm not sure how she got out of the pool so fast with touching the stairs. I let him live to fight another day, later explaining to my better half that if you have one that means there are rats in our yard. The only thing she hates more than snakes are rats.

One final point. Rat snakes have a nasty defense mechanism called the "toxic shit attack". I don't know if that is the scientific name, but it damn well should be. I almost had to have the pool drained and steam cleaned. His last act of defiance as I chased him out of the skimmer with the poker was to emit a viscous stream of foul Black Death tar the likes of which you would have to experience to appreciate. He then leered back at me with a mocking snake grin knowing full well what he had just done. To make matters worse, I almost gagged, but saw the protoplasmic excrement heading towards the skimmer where it would be distributed like a foul stew by the pump. Having no other choice, I cupped it in my hands and tossed it onto the large agave plant next to the pool. It became sunbaked over the next couple of days and that piece of the agave eventually died!

I shit you not, you have been warned!

I know a few things about snakes. When I moved to Florida in 1974 I made living catching snakes and other things in the Everglades. Yes, they will shit on you when they get scared. Believe it or not the snake is more afraid you then you are afraid of it. The best way to remove the snake is to open all doors and windows and give him a escape route. Gently Poke him with a long stick and persuade him to leave the vehicle. You don't want to scare him to much, remember the shit post. Be patient until he leaves on his own. He is non poisonous and might try to bit you, but he can't hurt you. I have been bit hundreds of times by rat snakes. It hurts less then a pin prick. Control your fear. You just have to be a little smarter then the snake.

I grew up in the great white north where snakes aren't even a thing (re:winter)

Hate the buggers... I'm hoping the poke will be incentive to ramble... if not I'll fire her up tomorrow to get it motivated

To use a Family Guy quote: "damn, nature, you scary!".

I consider myself manly and all that, but the little girl scream is my reaction too! Wife saw, and filed that away. I redeemed myself at Yellowstone when she was walking along and did not see the sunning rattler. I said, in a manly voice, "Stop. Snake."

But I may have peed a little...

Just sell the truck. It has mingy snake residue in it.

I'll bet that snake was moving VERY slowly when caught.
