No worries, thanks anyway.

I think I have found what I need. These single circuit Derale oil coolers should fit perfectly.

About the only thing I don't like about them are the 1/2 barb fittings (larger NPT would be ideal).

This is a dual circuit one that is still a bit tall (1" less than the Derale dual one), but was thinking I could flare up from the lip on the breakfast and raise it as much as 3" which would make it fit. Being 14" wide would leave room for reservoirs next to it. I like that it has 1/2" NPT fittings too. But less cooling capacity than 2 of the others.

This is a great size and sturdy looking but very pricey. Not sure it would be worth it

Any thoughts on these?

Ed, I just saw your post. I don't have time to watch those all - they are long, and for some reason they buffer like crazy here. I even made a roku app so i can watch them on tv, but never do. And since they are videos you can't easily search to find what you want so not really good for a reference. Let me know some minute marks if you find anything interesting.

1 hr 35 min mark has the info. you are right...half the show is these guys rambling about bizarre topics.

what i got out of it: part of the problem is that vw thing has two tiny heat exchangers, other is that single circuit cooling caused the dmach controller to hit 50 deg c, because thw motor is designed to work at higher temps.

they also mentioned single circuit cooling on a mini cooper which worked fine because of a full size rad.

Yeah everyone else I know of that's using this combo is using a full size radiator. I really want to only have two battery boxes, and not double stack the batteries or I could use the series one. But yeah that definitely helped to hear what temps he was getting.

Anyhoo, It looks like I forgot to paste in the link to one of the coolers above. I'll edit my post but this was the other dual one that would fit with some work

http://www.code510.com/heavy-duty-du...maxi-cool.html

But then I found this one. It's 18" wide which is almost a perfect fit into the stock radiator width, which would leave it a little more stock looking. I like the inlets all being on that side, and I'll still have room to put reservoirs to one side. One circuit is half the size of the other, but I'm assuming the inverter would be ok with that portion. I just have to fashion a top cover to allow it to sit 2-3" above the slam panel and it should give me enough room under it to reach the first row of batteries and put the lid on the battery box without pain.

I'll sleep on this, but I think this may be the answer!

Thanks, all.
