SLR Motorsports performance chip

Is this for real?

http://slrmotorsports.com/shop/index...t_detail&p=413

$69 bucks for 50 hp and 50 torque? Seems to me to good to be true...

Almost cheap enough to try. Would be awesome if it improved gas mileage alone!

I'd be interested in hearing the results if anyone tries one out. My truck won't be in any shape to do any testing for a while, but if anyone gets one, make sure to post a review...

50 HP gain is impossible in a 14CUX with just a chip.
Having recently spent a week straight with Mark Adams from Tornado Systems on the dyno and doing road tests on various Defenders here, I can say with complete certainty that that claim is full of sheet.

I tend to agree, but for the price, if there is some gain it might be worth it. I have been trying to track down a chip for my 110 as I believe it still has the stock one in it, and the engine was replaced with a 4.5l JE engine. Does anyone (Mike perhaps) know of any off the shelf chip for this? I contacted JE and all they could tell me was that they could custom tune it for a ton of $$ and they would need the vehicle on site in england...hardly practical!

I tend to agree... I think if there was no gain in hp or torque and JUST the gain in gas mileage it would be worth it.

I saw about 50 HP/ 50 lb ft gains with an APR chip for my Audi 1.8T a few years ago. But that was taking a low pressure turbo program and increasing boost 100%.

If you click any car the same chip and description comes up which doesn't look good. For $70 I would make a strong guess that chip does nothing at all but waste the buyers time.

Not to put you on the spot, but what would you guess a good (where drivability and MPG is still decent) HP gain would be for the 14CUX box?

Mark Adams at Tornado Systems in the UK.
He's done tons of JE engines and knows all about the systems. He can send you a chip that will work great.

Question

Ok... I just got this email back from SLR Motorsports:

"Hello. We have dyno tested every chip for every vehicle that we sell. But, due to the number of factors that can alter the hp ratings we only conduct these tests to make sure the chip has been tuned properly. We do not send the dyno results out because of the differences. We guarantee you will see and feel gains of 50+ HP and 50+ Torque and 3-6+ MPG or your money back.
Every vehicle and results vary. We want to earn your business at SLR motorsports. Thats why we offer a 60 day 100% Money back guarantee at SLR motorsports. If you have any more questions please let us know.
"

I don't know...

I think this might be worth investigating further... anyone have access to a dyno? I would love to see the before and after on this one...

Yeah, real fun. Run your truck on the dyno while they put ridiculous parameters into a chip to try and make HP and watch your engine blow up.

I think Mike was saying that the chip itself will have some pretty rediculus parameters program into it. Throw the 90 on the dyno w/ this hot chip and watch out.
