I buy a gallon and use a garden sprayer. The long wand allows me to get into places (like behind the rear cross member) and I can control the level of spray as well. Takes maybe 15 minutes.

I use the cans with the straw to get inside the weep holes at the bottoms of the doors, the hinges and inside key holes.

12+ years of year round daily driving in the mid-Atlantic, so far so good.
