Silverado 3500 vs. Defender

A Sliverado 3500 rear ended my 110 last week at a stop light. When it happened, it sounded like someone had slammed the rear door. My damage: left bumper smashed, smashed fog lamp lens (light still works), cracked turn signal lens (light still works), some dimpling of the rear cross member. His damage: bent front bumper, misaligned headlights, sagging front bumper. He just cut me a check for the damages, as neither of us wanted to deal with the insurance companies. I can't imagine his repairs will be cheaper than mine (about $145 in parts, shipped to me).

At least I know my rear cross member is solid

Why do people cover up their license plates in Photoshop? You drive around all day with your plate letter exposed!

I'll bet Safari Resto can get you a new piece of coping for that rear corner.

I've often wondered that. It's like not wanting to give out your bank account number. Duh it's on the bottom of every check you write, chances are the people asking for it already have it.

You are lucky he swerved otherwise his grill would have hit your spare tire and push the door in.

Bad habit I guess - and it was Gimp, not Photoshop, by the way, which makes a HUGE difference

Is the coping that vertical piece that runs from the lower corner to where the top meets?

We were both in a right turn lane, and I was stopped at an angle for traffic, but yeah, if he'd hit straight on the damage would've been a lot worse on my end.

I don't know if he was talking on the phone while driving, but when we pulled into the parking lot he was on the phone.

Here is another one of a Rover vs. Chevy truck. Previous owner drove my 90 home after the car wash guy forgot to put the e-brake on.

That's good use of the sliders.

I know people do it on the race track incase they end up having to file an insurance claim for an on-track incident they try and claim happened on the road..... very much illegal but at least there is a reason behind it
