Have recently discovered this awesome site. This guy has my exact same taste of all things. This posting proves it. Check out the gear on his site. Love the bikes too!!! I need a cafe racer!

Yes, I had my near death experience 12 years ago on a Harley. Rear ended a f150 at 50 mph. Walked away with a broken wrist. I swore away from bikes. But now thinking about a scooter. I really am digging the Honda Ruckus. I live at the beach and everyone has them. No tag, no insurance, and 115 mpg.

Awesome site. Thanks for the link, Burke. Now I have yet another destination for endless time-wasting on the web.

Although I'm something of a Harley and Euro sportbike snob for my things two-wheeled and motorized, I also sort of dig the Ruckus. Its the "photo of Johnny Cash flipping the bird" to the rest of the scooters out there (and many other modes of transit, too.)

Of note, however is this: If you really are considering a scooter and like things necessitating mechanical tinkering (You do, of course own a Defender), consider rebuilding an old Vespa or Lambretta. I had one many years ago that I tore apart, restored and tooled around on in SD for awhile, and that total investment of about five months and about 2500 bucks got more attention from hot girls (for me and it) than I ever saw while owning high dollar Ducatis, MV Agustas, Aprilias, etc. It was also a ton of fun around town and especially at highway-ish speeds.

Ah yes the old Vespas. Isn't it crazy how Rover guys all share the same weird passions. Think I'll start with a Ruckus. The wife wants a Vespa so I am engineering it so I get both....

Add me to the list... bought my first old Vespa at 19 years old and still have it. two restorations later and a brand new 200cc engine about 5 years ago. Unfortunately it sits in storage at my home of record but I can't bare to sell it... I hope one day to enjoy riding and wrenching on it again.

+1 on getting an old Vespa. The market has REALLY dropped and you can get decent bikes for next to nothing now.
