Sighting on I95 South in Maine

Passed a green ST from Mass towing a trailer just before Kennebunk at 4:15 Friday. Anybody here?

What is it about seeing another Defender that makes me feel like one of those screaming girls in those old Beatles video clips?

I use to feel that way decades ago. If 2 Land Rovers passed each other on the road people waved and /or pulled over to talk about Land Rovers. I wave to Series owners and Defender owners when I see them. It's not worth the effort to wave to Discovery/ Range Rover owners unless they have a bunch of accessories bolted onto their vehicle.

That was the gent who picked up the used 4.0 block from us on Friday. He'll chime in if he wants.

Depends on the time of year and the weather...
I have a 95 D90 ST, a 110 #64 (still in bits, but coming along) a '99 D2 winter beater, a couple Mustangs, a Dune Buggy, a Firebird a Ford truck for towing, BMW motorcycle etc.
Don't worry, I don't own a BR110, or abomination I think you called it.

So Im glad you agree the BR was an abomination too. Thats cool i figured you would have a few Defenders. How far out on your work are you? Seems like after working on Defenders all day youd be to tired of them to work on your own.

Actually, I think the BR110 is probably the coolest thing we've ever built. Second would be the Dormobile 110, then the V8 EFI coil 109SWs we have built.
The BR110 is a ST 90 for those who need to carry more folks... what's not to love? As my kids get older and won't fit in the back of a 90 anymore and want to bring their friends along, I'll probably build a BR110 for summer fun. When you get older you'll understand needing more space.
You'll be happy to know that the run of 5 BR110s we are doing is now fully sold out.

Yes, time is short now (with kids especially) but time gets put aside to get the Rovers done. My new goal is to have either the 90 completely rebuilt, or the 110 finished by Spring... that and the Amphicar needs full restoration too... not enough hours in the day.
Smart money says I don't make either one of those goals.

There are some photos of the Amphicar (known here as GLUB due to all the rust holes it currently has) in the "After Hours" section on the site:

Lots of work to do, but it'll be cool when its done. I have the engine done, a modified 1300 from a Spitfire, etc.
