Sighting

Hey who was the blue SW, roof rack, lights I saw heading West on the PA turnpike Sunday @ 10:30am in between Valley Forge and Norristown interchanges (I was in the yellow ST). Anyone here?

Did he see you and wave?
I passed a 1994 yellow D-90 on livingston rd in Naples florida. Young guy who did not even wave back (OK, I was in a rented Camery but what the f@$#, you get a nod, nod back).

That's alright, I drove past a yellow D-90 yesterday being driven by one of the copley boys (had the copley plates, and the college kid they have as a driver). Truck was the cleanest thing I've seen. Tires were shiny.

He didn't wave

Just stared at me blankly.

damn that would be an awesome job driving Stuarts truck's around. I dont think many people even know what D-90's are I get dumb looks by other rover owners when I am on the road. I called the Rover dealer to aks about getting my truck serviced I told em it was a D90 and they were like a 1990 defender. I was at another Rover dealer lookin at an SW and they asked what I drove I told them I had a SW the guy was like the 4 door i was like no a D-90 SW he was like uh.. Had to show him the badge on the SW they had on thier lot before he understood. duh-huh

well, look at the H2 hate thread. We are a misunderstood group.
...shiny tires?? uh, does that mean mine are actually shiny / were shiny...
is it possible??
I got a red d90 in my area that is prime. A d90 can get down dirty AND shine up real pretty.

I pass this chick a couple of times...no wave, nothing, and it's hard to miss me when I see another, I practically climb out of the seat waving.
Of course, I had this guy look at me tonight and say, "Just another Jeep to me."
Stared blankly back at him, couldn't even muster a grunt.

Ahemm!?! I have one D-90 I pass everyday on the way to work. Blue in color, he always speeds up next to my Disco and then proceeds to 'hover' next to me in the lane. One of these days I am going to get some sort of communication out of him! A wave or maybe I might just try something really crazy!

Not once has anyone in a Disco waved back at me, not even the ones I know!

I had a couple guys in a discovery one time pull up next to me and started snapping pictures. Then got in front of me, more photos. Got behind me, more photos. Gave a thumbs up and drive off.

Then there was the time a guy said to me "too bad you couldnt get a D-90 instead." :::shakes head::::

I agree about dealerships too. Went in one day, asked the guy for exhaust manifold gaskets for a Defender. He said "I ain't got no parts for no defenders". That's why I always try to go in with part numbers, he had 4 in stock but had no clue that the engine was the same as all the other 3.9's

Screw the rovers that Stuart has in stock. His drive monkey gets to bring these babies down...

I love rovers and all, but he's got better stuff. Crazy.

On the SW bit, it seems the number one question I get is "how old is it"? Well, everyone is surprised it's a '97.

I don't bother to wave at Disco's anymore either. Get more waves from the old Toyota Landcruiser's. Hey Jesse, I'll wave if I see ya on I-64.

Ooh ooh ooh! Mine is "So do you take it off road" when it is covered in mud, dented and missing everything in the rear axle.

Yeah, any time people make reference to it being a Jeep, or why I should get a Jeep or a Hummer or anything like that... my standard reply is "no thanks, this is a Land Rover and I like being on this side of the tow strap much better than their side"

I had a guy come up to me and say what a nice truck I have. He then went on to say he has one at home but doesn't drive it much. I said you have one of these? He says he has the same one. I play along and ask him some more questions about his truck to which he could only give vague answers. He finaly left and as he was leaving he said we should start an International Harvesters Club. Ha Ha Ha. Does this look like an IH?
