Should I buy one?

Okay, need your guys input. Looking to buy the wife a 2008 BMW 535i xDrive. It will be a Certified Pre-Owned which as I read it, will include a 6 year, 100,000 mile warranty.

What I'm most concerned about is the iDrive. Seems to be a lot of hate out there for it. Any other opinions on the car would be appreciated.

Thanks.

-Neil

Okay, shifting gears to a possible 2009 Audi A6. Same horsepower and no iDrive gadgetry.

Thoughts?

I have a friend with one. Very comfortable. He has a ton of miles. I think his is an 08. Just had the engine replaced under warranty. Not sure why

My 03 530i was terrible. iDrive was the least of my issues but it was annoying to use.

I drive doesn't seem bad and takes little time to figure it out. I don't see why it matters if you have a warranty.

The iDrive is not bad it gets a bad rap. It just takes some time it will be second nature. Stay away from the Audi A6. They are good handling cars but when they break they break. Everyone I know that owns an Audi is always going to the service center can get expensive as a daily driver.

Recently got an 08 550i with a 100k warranty - the 535 isn't much slower and it takes a week or two to get used to the iDrive.. It's fine now. I personally wouldn't buy an 08 or 09 without the warranty.
