Just use firefox browser, I don't get 90% of the junk the IE users get.

for palm get a program called the missing link. there is a link for it off the apple website. It allows you to sync cell phones, palm pilots and all other PDAs seamlessly with apple programs like ical, mail and address book.

I had the same concern when I switched (especially with AutoCad), but then I went to the MAC Store, and there on the shelf was a CAD program that was interchangeable with AutoCad. Now, if you are really using the modeling side of it you may not be able to use a mac, but I encourage you to go to one of their "business days" and ask them. They constantly have architects in the Richmond store so you can pick their brain. I can't say enough about my switch, especially with the stability of their laptops for traveling.
