Shipping a 300 TDI engine over

You guys seem to be a group that is getting the diesels over and installed. So I was wondering what was involved with shipping a 300 TDI engine over and the rough idea of costs.

That's not that bad. Was there anything special you had to do with customs to ship it over?

Just drain all the fluids and itemise every item on the pallet with a commercial invoice.

I'd like some body parts for a Defender and an older Audi Avant shipped..... we need to get a mass gathering and all go "in" on a container. LOL.

At this point I'm trying to figure out who to contact to set up shipping something that bulky. At $800 and change to ship a motor I'm in, what the hell it should be fun right. Or I could just have the RRC and the motor shipped to your place. You'll get bored and put it in for me Doug

Army, if you know anyone in the air force, i'm only about 20 minutes from RAF Fairford

Get the engine to me and i can get it down to the camp, maybe you can shoehorn it onto the back of a 'plane in an MTO box? (MTO being the UK equivalent of a moving house box!)

I know a couple of Air Force people but, none that would be able to pull that kinda favor. I appreciate the offer though.

Who do you guys use to ship things like this?

There's a local shipping agency here in town that i use quite a lot for ebay stuff. they're pretty resonable (cheaper than UPS/FEDEX etc) but deliver to the same places within the same sort of time scale as well. (airlinkworldwide)
