Series Truck in Charlottesville VA wanted

OK - so some kid, whose life long obsession with LR Series trucks is getting married...His wife loves them too, but they just can't get one right now...reached out to me via eBay (where I am advertising mine for sale) and asked the following:

- would I rent it to him for their wedding October 10, 2015 in Charl area for $400 for the day +gas money
- there is some driving (by me) pick up drop off of bride etc - take them from reception to hotel
- offered me (and sig other) two seats for all meals/drinks festivities
- get a bunch of professional photos of the truck

I would totally do it, love to help out, but I am with the boys putting the gearbox in my D110 that day.

Let me know I can pass on all contact information.

Damn, I wish my shit was running and timing was right for you Jonesy. We could've offered to cart the groomsmen and bridesmaids as well.

Does it have to be a Series? I know of a Defender in town. Also, know someone else outside town with a Series, but Nomar would know how to get a hold of him easier than me at this point.

Thanks for all the feedback and leads, guys. A vintage series is really the ideal. We've both spent a bit of time doing research in East and Southern Africa - and while there are more Defenders around these days, the Series hold a really special place in our hearts. Call it nostalgia, but they're just so damned romantic (when they're working!).

Good Luck finding a Series to star in the Wedding! Great group of guys around here, I'm sure they will come up with something for you.

I included the Defender in my wedding, and its still in the family! Highly recommend it! I even managed to get a Land Rover on the top of the Cake!

I've tried Guns and Rovers, Land Rover Forums, as well as posting here a few times previously. I've also reached out to owners from the VA area selling on different classified lists, as they frequently have running rigs and contact info, as well as current locations.

It's been a few months of searching, and now that the wedding is less than 2 weeks away, I may have to admit defeat and rent a dreaded town car / sedan... I've been given a long leash on this and we're basically close enough that it's time that we need to have something reasonably secured and agreed upon. So this might be the last 24 hours to get something arranged.

If we do have to go the modern sedan route, we have tracked down a car service company with a Jaguar XF - so perhaps we'll be able to leave in a British vehicle either way. Two veryyyy different British vehicles!

Thanks Elbee. Just like here in Cambridge, MA, there are a lot in town - the hard part is getting in touch with owners from here in the Boston area. I've been posting in the forums for a while, and also spoke to Ben at Land Rover Alternative in CVille, hoping to get in touch with owners that way.

Here is my original post from August:

Try contacting ROAV.org again. The Mid Atlantic Rally is this weekend and they may be able to help you find someone.

Ok....anyone in NOVA want to drive mine down there, free meal and can keep any $$$$ Andrew will throw at you? Heck if you want to trailer it down I can get a trailer for it. But I am happy to donate my truck.

I just have to get my gearbox in
